I bought the Akoya Pearl 3-12g version specifically for perch. It took an in-store demonstration with Dave at PT to really show me the difference.
Gunki Bumpy 76
This great little lure has really done the deed in the last few weeks. In particular, the Ghost zander pattern has excelled. These 76mm baits are great on a 3-4g jig head and really benefit from the awesome tail action and aggressive roll on the lure. You can see from the lures above how much the perch love them. They are tough lures and can easily land you many fish, the top lure there has had at least 40 fish caught on it, as you can tell from how beaten up it is. Check them out at Predator Tackle

In practice, this rod really does live up to its price tag. It casts so sweetly, and the feedback is immense; I swear you can feel the fish looking at the bait. It takes a little while to calm down your senses, as you do end up striking at everything. Once you have gotten used to it, then it is an absolute pleasure to use.
I paired this rod with the superbly light Shimano Vanquish; together, you barely know you are holding them, such is the balance and weight of them. If I had one gripe, it is the aesthetics. I would prefer the rod to be a different colour or for options to be available. If you are interested and, like me, are reticent, then go find a stockist and try one out in store.
